May 2017 – November 2017: Double Negative - London

FILM  Disney 'Planes' sequel 

Senior Modeler working on Disney 'Planes' sequel for Double Negative. Responsible for modeling of hero characters and background characters. Modelling hard surface 'Plane' type characters was a new challenge for me. I enjoyed rising to the occasion and learning new methods of laying optimum topology for the form. 

 

January 2017 – May 2017: Aardman Features

FILM ' ‘Early Man'

Senior Modeler working on digital doubles. Responsible for modeling of hero characters and background characters.  I worked to establish best work practices and standards,  liaised with rigging and the puppet making departments to establish efficient models whilst capturing the beauty and appeal of the character.

 

June 2014 – November 2016: Sony Pictures Imageworks.

FILM ' ‘Hotel Transylvania 2’, ‘Emoji’, ‘Smurfs - The Lost Village‘ and ’Storks’ '

Senior Modeler working on various CG only films for Sony Pictures Imageworks. Responsible for modeling of hero characters, background characters, sets and props with an emphasis on character modelling. I was keen to work on a fully CG feature. I wanted to expand my skills. So when Sony offered me the job I relished the opportunity to learn and grow.

 

November 2013 – May 2014: Laika.

FILM 'Kubo and the two strings'

Modelling of hero characters for Laika's feature film. Responsible for modeling of stop motion puppet heads and bodies for printing with new Rapid Prototyping Process. Modeling of both organic and hard surface assets for feature film production, assembling replaceable faces, engineering secure interlocking parts and eye mechanisms.

 

August 2013 – October 2013: Aardman Animation, Commercials-Freelance.

Modelling and texturing of Sets, Props, and Characters for commercials and games.

Modeled the main character for Laika's next feature film 'The Boxtrolls'. Responsible for modeling of stop motion puppet heads and bodies for printing with new Rapid Prototyping Process. Modeling of both organic and hard surface assets for feature film production, assembling replaceable faces, engineering secure interlocking parts and eye mechanisms.

FILM 'Pirates! In an adventure with Scientists'-Oscar Nominated

 

VFX Character, prop Modeler Texture, Look Dev artist-

Precise modeling and texturing of stylised digital doubles based on photo reference of stop motion puppets. Design and creation of background CG characters to populate crowd scenes. Modeling and Look Dev of characters and Hard Surface props.

 

Rapid Prototype Modeler

Modeling of stop motion puppet heads for printing with new Rapid Prototyping Process. Heads modeled in Maya based on designs and sculpts. Separated into parts creating secure interlocking surfaces requiring a high degree of accuracy. Allowed for multiple replacement mouths and sculptable brows for stop frame animation. Required both organic and technical modeling.

Part of a small team producing high quality commercials and in-house tests. Worked to strict deadlines on a number of different aspects of production. Gained valuable experience in modeling, texturing, lighting, compositing, scene setup, scheduling and rendering.
